The Book Project: Overview
The Purpose of the Book
The primary purpose of creating a book based on the IRF is to carry the excitement about the potential value of IT generated at the forum to a wider audience. This book will pick up the various threads of the discussion, organize the thinking, and then look at the way each issue shows how IT is playing a crucial role in human society. The thesis of the book is that until now IT has developed too much in the shadows inside large organizations. For IT to have maximum impact it is now time for those who create IT solutions and use IT to think about larger issues and challenge each other to develop solutions not just in the context of the IT department but in the context of the entire world. The megatrends discussed at the conference will form the basis for illustrating this thesis.
The following pages display the current status of the book project. They will be actualized on a regular basis.
