Dr. Peter Kürpick, Software AG

Dr. Peter Kürpick is a Member of the Executive Board of Software AG, having joined the company in April 2005. In his current role, he is responsible for the company´s crossvision business unit, which includes research and development, product management, and product marketing.

Prior to joining Software AG, Dr. Kürpick was Senior Vice President at SAP, where he was responsible for major parts of the SAP NetWeaver stack – the foundation of all SAP applications. In early 2000, he assumed the role of Executive Board Assistant, working out of Palo Alto, New York, and Germany for Professor Dr. Hasso Plattner, former CEO and co-founder of SAP. Dr. Kürpick started his career in IT in 1998, joining SAP as a software developer.

Dr. Peter Kürpick obtained a Diploma in Physics in 1989, majoring in theoretical physics and supercomputer. He went on to obtain a PhD in theoretical physics in 1993. From 1995 to 1997, he completed his post-doctorate in the United States, working at the University of California at Berkley, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Kansas State University, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratories, Tennessee.
