Prof. Ulrich Finger Director of Eurecom


Ulrich Finger is currently the director of the Institut Eurecom in Sophia-Antipolis, France. He received his M.Sc. degree from the University of Stuttgart and the ENST (Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, Paris). He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Networks from the ENST and Paris VI, France. His major research interests are in computer architecture and real-time operating systems. Ulrich Finger is a member of IEEE, ACM and IFIP working group 10.3. He holds nine patents and has published numerous papers in leading scientific conferences and journals.

Since September 2000, he is the Director of Institut Eurécom, Graduate School and Research Center in Communication Systems located in the science park of Sophia Antipolis, France.

Institut Eurecom was founded in 1991 by Telecom Paris (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Telecommunications, Paris, France) and EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne). It is administered by a consortium and has partnerships with several international academic institutions and industrials .

Eurecom is particularly active in research in high performance communication and multimedia with a special emphasis on information security and wireless.
