Andrea Böhmert

Andrea Böhmert is Managing Partner of Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa and has been responsible for the initial set up of the Fund in South Africa.

From 2004 to 2007 she was Founder and Partner of Cape Venture Partners, a VC intermediary focusing on providing mentoring support to high potential but early stage technology companies ready for external investments. In this role Andrea Böhmert developed a strong network with the South African Funding and entrepreneurial community.

Andrea Böhmert is Chairperson of the Cape IT Initiative, the Western Cape Umbrella organisation that represents the IT Cluster, and also serves as a Director on the Board of the IT Business Incubator, Bandwidth Barn. She is a Member of the Board of Career Planet, a non-for-profit organization focusing on career education. In addition Andrea remains a director of Cape Venture Partners.

Before working with Cape Venture Partners, she served as Business Unit Manager for Dimension Data’s Software Division. From 1995 to 2000, Andrea Böhmert headed up the Strategic Planning Department of Siemens Ltd for Southern Africa.

Andrea Böhmert received her business degree from RWTH Aachen, Germany and holds an MBA from Henley Management College, UK.
