Prof. August-Wilhelm Scheer

From 1975-2005, August-Wilhelm Scheer, founder and chairman of the IDS Scheer AG and the imc AG, chaired the Institute for Business Informatics at Saarland University.

He is a member of the Council for Innovation and Growth of the Federal Government, the Senate of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, president of the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media, and Vice President of The Federation of German Industries (BDI).

In 2003, he was chosen Entrepreneur of the Year 2003 in the Information Technology category. In the same year, he received the Philip Morris Research Award.
