Robert Dye
Bob Dye was appointed the Group Vice President, Research for The Research Board in 2002 and is a member of the Research Board leadership team. Dye manages the creation of Research Board content, including reports, member meetings, surveys, inquiries, and presentations.
The Research Board (RB), established in 1973, is an international think tank dedicated to the issues confronting the world's largest organizations. Sponsored exclusively by member subscription, the RB provides a forum for members to exchange knowledge, impart insights, and share best practices through member-commissioned research and facilitated interchange. To ensure the RB's objectivity, none of the member organizations is a supplier of communications or computing equipment, software or IT services. The Research Board has been owned by Gartner (NYSE: IT) since 1998 and continues to operate as a completely independent business maintaining the confidentiality of its material and exclusivity of relationships with members.
Since becoming Head of Research Dye has led over 50 major research projects covering a wide range of subject areas.
Dye has served in a number of other capacities at the RB, most recently as a Research Director focused on analyzing competitive trends in the IT industry. He also started the company’s Digital Security Board and ran its Technology Infrastructure Board.
Prior to joining the RB, Dye founded and ran a venture backed software company that created the first Internet “platforms-as-a-service” for large enterprises. He also completed the prestigious Coro Fellows in Public Affairs program in New York City.
He received his B.A. from Michigan State University, where he studied International Relations and Political Economy and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
