Prof. Dr. Stefan Jähnichen

Prof. Stefan Jähnichen is Head of the Software Engineering Research Group at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Technical University of Berlin.

Since 1998 Prof. Jähnichen is also Managing and Scientific Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Architecture and Software Technology.

Professor Stefan Jähnichen received his Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in electrical engineering from the Technical University Berlin in 1979. Stefan Jähnichen has a solid experience in software engineering especially in programming languages and compilers which he contributes to many national and international comitees such as the IFIP Working Group 2.4 in System Programming Languages, the German Techonology Cooperation with Latin-America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico) or the Scientific Advisory Board (Fachkolleg) for Informatics of the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Stefan Jähnichen is Chief Editor of the German research paper 'Informatik: Forschung und Entwicklung' as well as author of 10 books and approximately 100 papers in refereed conference proceedings and journals.
