Prof. Tatiana Gavrilova

Tatiana Gavrilova is professor at the Graduate School of Management and head of the Department of Information Technologies in Management at the St. Petersburg State University in Russia. She is also head of the St. Petersburg Division of the Russian Association for Artificial Intelligence (RAAI). Gavrilova is a member of the Board of Russian Association for Artificial Intelligence, the St. Petersburg Scientific Union, and sits on the editorial board of journal “Artificial Intelligence News”. Gavrilova does research in the areas Knowledge Engineering and Management, Cognitive Modelling, and Human-Computer Interaction.

From 1996 through 2007, Gavrilova was a professor at the Intelligent Computer Technologies Department at the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University. Simultaneously, she was also head of the Intelligent Systems Lab at the Institute for High Performance Computing and Data Bases. Prior to that, Gavrilova was an associated professor at the Intelligent Computer Technologies’ Department of the St. Petersburg State Technical University, and a Pedagogical Director in Vocational Renewal Center MANCOMTECH for four years.

Before joining the St. Petersburg State Technical University, Gavrilova had been working at the St. Petersburg Institute of Management and Computer Technologies (LIMTU) for 15 years, starting as a research fellow and rising to associated professor and professor at the Expert System Department. She started her career as a junior research fellow at the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute (Academy of Sciences of USSR), Computer Lab in 1975.

She holds doctor degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from the St.Petersburg State Technical University and an MS degree in Computer Science with honors in Petersburg Railway University.
