Claudia Funke

Claudia Funke is Director of the Munich Office of McKinsey&Company. She is leading McKinsey's global Enterprise ICT Services Practice as well as the German High Tech Sector, which includes the Software and Services, Datacom, Consumer Electronics, Industrial Manufacturing, Aerospace and Defense Industries; and is part of the leadership team of our global High Tech Sector.

Claudia works primarily for industry leaders in software, IT services, and telecommunication in the Enterprise customer segment. Her main areas of expertise include:

  • Go-to-market approaches: Increasing value capture from ICT investments in complex solution environments, large sales transformation programs, global account development, outsourcing, industry-specific go-to-market strategies
  • Strategy/executive counseling: Corporate strategy, changing go-to-market models, strategic/structural/transactional pricing, definition of strategic and operational turnaround programs, coaching of executive groups.
  • Business model innovation: In High Tech and Telco/Media environments.

Claudia is leading the "Global leadership creation in High Tech" initiative, which deals with the question how more global High Tech leaders can be created out of Europe. Together with Markus Klimmer, leader of the Public Sector, she is driving the efforts on "ICT leadership in the public sector".

Claudia joined McKinsey as Fellow in May 1994, was elected Partner in May 2000, and Senior Partner (Director) in June 2006.

Previous experience/education Before joining McKinsey she received a M.S. ("Diplom") in physics from the University of Cologne. She worked as a teacher at the department of theoretical physics and math, and as a professional dancer.
